Our story
Grupo Amara was born from a different way of understanding construction: close, honest and built around the people who will live in each project.
Grupo Amara grew out of bringing together building tradition and a more conscious way of constructing. We saw that traditional construction moved slowly, left an unnecessary mark on its surroundings and, more often than not, forgot the person who would live in that house. We decided to do it differently: we chose timber as our structural system — not as a trend, but because it delivers precision, energy efficiency and a quality of life conventional materials do not always reach. Since then we have worked to five principles — architecture, timber, high quality, responsibility and harmony — which are not a slogan but the way we make every decision, from the first sketch to the day we hand over the keys.

Amara started with a single commission: the home of a family who had spent two years let down by budgets that weren't honoured and deadlines that stretched on with no explanation. We finished that build on time, and decided that would be the standard, not the exception.
Since then we've kept the studio deliberately small: we'd rather say no to a project than stop staying on top of every one we take on.
